The term "sexual preference" was dropped long ago in favor of "sexual orientation." The truth is, though, that people have agency; sexuality isn't wholly written into our genes. I'd say your sentence should say that "Shelby Lynne ... crosses all sexual boundaries." Would that change your meaning?
